Terms of Service

These terms cover the Super Adventure Discord applications (the stable bot and the beta bot) and this website, together “the game”, run by Four Cube Games (“we”, “us”). By adding the game to a server or playing it, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the game.

Discord’s terms come first

You play through Discord, so Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply as well, including its minimum age. Nothing here overrides them.

The game is free, and it changes

The game costs nothing and sells nothing. Coins, creatures, items and wearables exist only inside the game. They have no money value and can’t be bought, sold or exchanged for anything outside it.

It’s a young game, and we change it: rules are rebalanced, features come and go, and numbers in the handbook are starting values. In particular:

• Seasons end. A server’s shared world lasts a season. When it ends, your progress in it moves into a private world of your own rather than being deleted. That’s how the game is designed, not a loss.
• The beta can be reset. Beta saves may be wiped when a change needs it, and they never carry over to the stable game.
• Nothing is guaranteed to last forever. We keep the stable game’s data and back it up, but we may have to stop running the game or remove features, and we can’t promise any save will exist indefinitely.

Who can play

Servers are approved by hand. We may approve or turn down any server, and withdraw approval later, for any reason or none, though we’ll usually say why. We may also stop any player from using the game. When a server is turned down, the bot tells its owner the reason and leaves.

Playing fairly

Please don’t:

• use bugs, automation or scripts to gain an advantage. If you find a bug, tell us on the feedback board or by email rather than using it;
• try to disrupt the game, overload it, or get at data that isn’t yours;
• use the game to harass anyone, including through challenges, trades or anything shown to other players;
• pretend to be us, or claim to speak for the game.

What others can see

Your Discord display name, your trainer’s looks, your teams and your records appear to other players: in your server, on the global leaderboard, and in other servers when your Hall of Fame team takes an Elite Four seat or someone challenges it. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Feedback

Feedback you send, on the board, by email or anywhere else, may be used to change the game, with no obligation to you. The feedback board is public: anything posted there, and your GitHub name, can be seen by anyone.

No warranty

The game is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. It may have bugs, go down, or lose data. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss that comes from using it or not being able to use it. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that can’t be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and continuing to play after a change means you accept it. Big changes will be announced in the game’s announcements.
