This covers the Super Adventure Discord applications (the stable bot and the beta bot) and this website, run by Four Cube Games (“we”, “us”). In short: we keep what the game needs to work, nothing else, and we don’t sell or share it.
What we store
When you play:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your Discord user id, and your display name as it was when you last played | to know which save is yours, and to show your name on leaderboards and announcements |
| Your saves: worlds, creatures, box, bag, dex, coins, badges, battles in progress, trainer looks and wearables | it’s the game |
| Your records: Hall of Fame teams, trainer battles won and lost, challenges and their results, trades, region votes, raid attempts | leaderboards, rematches, head-to-heads and votes |
When the bot is added to a server:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The server’s id and name, its owner’s user id, and its approximate member count | to approve servers by hand, and tell the owner the answer |
| When the bot joined and left, and whether the server was approved or turned down, with the reason | a history of each server’s standing |
| The server’s settings: announcement channel, announcement level, time zone and pace | to run the server’s world the way its admins chose |
| Channel and message ids for live battles and announcements | to post and update them |
We also keep a weekly count of servers and players, to see how the game is doing.
What we don’t collect
- Your messages. You play with slash commands and buttons. The bot has no access to message content and asks for no privileged Discord permissions.
- Your email, your real name, your IP address, or anything about you from outside the game. Discord handles your connection, and the bot only sees what Discord passes on when you use a command.
- Anything for advertising or analytics. There are no ads and no trackers.
Who can see it
- Other players, in your server and elsewhere: your display name, your trainer’s looks, your rankings on the leaderboards (per server and across the whole bot), your announced achievements, your trainer card, and your Hall of Fame teams, which can appear in other servers’ Elite Four rematches and challenges.
- Us, to run the game, approve servers and fix problems.
We don’t sell, rent or share your data with anyone.
Where it’s kept, and for how long
The game’s data lives in a database on a server we run, and is backed up nightly. Backups are kept for 14 days. Logs record errors, with the ids involved, and are kept only as long as we need them to fix problems.
Your data is kept while you play. If you stop, it stays, so that you can come back to your worlds. A server’s settings and standing are kept after the bot leaves, so a returning server is recognised.
Deleting your data
Ask on Discord, from the account the data belongs to: that’s how we know the request is really yours. Message mynameismawky and say you’d like your data deleted. If Discord won’t let you send a message, send a friend request from that profile first.
Message mynameismawky on Discord
We’ll delete your account, saves, creatures and records within 30 days, and confirm when it’s done. Copies in backups disappear as the backups roll over, within 14 days after that. A server’s owner can ask the same for their server, from the owner’s account.
You can ask what we hold about you, or for it to be corrected, the same way.
This website
The site is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may log visitors’ IP addresses as described in GitHub’s privacy statement. Its fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for them.
- Feedback buttons open a form on GitHub. What you post there, with your GitHub name, is public.
- The beta request form is handled by Formspree, which emails us what you enter. We use it only to invite you, and delete it once you’re in or have been told no.
Children
You need to be old enough to use Discord in your country to play. We don’t knowingly hold data about anyone younger. If you have questions about a child’s use of the game, email mark@4cube.org: we’ll give you a thorough breakdown of what’s stored and how, and if you’d like it removed, we’ll investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Big changes will be announced in the game’s announcements.
